Why Amentum fits

Jason Simpkins’ “Anti-Gravity IPO” campaign points to Amentum Holdings, the government engineering contractor that began trading as AMTM in September 2024. The identification is strong. The story connecting Amentum to recovered alien craft or commercial anti-gravity technology is not.

01Public in 2024Amentum began NYSE trading under AMTM on September 30, 2024, matching the “went public last year” clue in the February 2026 pitch.
02Manhattan-era heritageIts filing traces predecessor-company work to environmental management after the Manhattan Project, a narrower fact than the promotion implies.
03Defense and NASA exposureAmentum identifies defense, intelligence, energy and NASA as core markets, and it recently won a $974 million NASA Langley support contract.
04No alien-tech disclosureAmentum’s filings do not claim UAP recovery, extraterrestrial materials, or anti-gravity commercialization.

How the teaser scored

Evidence breakdown

Catalyst verification0.50 /2
Fundamental support1.25 /2
Return-claim support0.25 /2
Risk/context completeness0.25 /2

Why the campaign received these scores

  • Factual clue accuracy: 1.75/2. The listing date, predecessor history, government focus and NASA exposure identify Amentum convincingly. The location counts in the pitch are not substantiated in the filing we reviewed.
  • Catalyst verification: 0.50/2. UAP records and sworn allegations exist, but the government’s own UAP office says it has found no evidence of extraterrestrial technology. Nothing authoritative connects Amentum to recovered craft.
  • Fundamental support: 1.25/2. Amentum is profitable, generates cash and carries a large backlog. Revenue nevertheless fell 2% year over year in the latest quarter and net leverage remained 3.0 times.
  • Return-claim support: 0.25/2. The landing page says gains could reach 1,500% or more, but supplies no disclosed contract, patent ownership, product roadmap or valuation bridge for that scenario.
  • Risk/context completeness: 0.25/2. The promotion gives little weight to debt, government-budget timing, contract execution or the absence of company evidence for its most dramatic premise.

Scores measure the support visible in accessible evidence, not whether AMTM will rise or fall. Maximum: 10 points across five equally weighted factors.

The short answer

The teased company is very likely Amentum Holdings (NYSE: AMTM). The match is unusually specific: a recently public government contractor, built through mergers and name changes, with legacy links to Manhattan Project cleanup work plus active defense, intelligence and NASA programs.

That solves the identification puzzle. It does not validate the promotion’s central investment leap. Amentum is a large engineering and technical-services contractor. Its public disclosures support conventional, if sometimes classified, government work. They do not disclose recovered alien hardware, an anti-gravity product or a program to commercialize extraterrestrial technology.

Claim check

Promotion claim What the evidence shows Assessment
The mystery company went public “last year.” Amentum began trading on the NYSE under AMTM on September 30, 2024 after a Reverse Morris Trust transaction. Supported
Its roots reach back to the Manhattan Project. Amentum says predecessor companies provided environmental-management support following the Manhattan Project. That is a real heritage link, but it is not the same as developing the bomb or its core technology. Partly supported
It works across military bases, NASA facilities and research labs. Amentum documents broad defense, intelligence, energy and NASA work. We did not find authoritative support for the exact “33, seven and five” site counts used by the pitch. Broadly supported; counts unverified
It may test or reverse-engineer recovered UAP technology. No Amentum filing or company release reviewed makes that claim. AARO says the Defense Department has found no evidence of extraterrestrial technology. Unsupported
An exotic “inertial mass reduction” patent helps validate the thesis. US Patent 10,144,532 names Salvatore Pais as inventor and the U.S. Department of the Navy as assignee. It does not list Amentum. Misleading connection
The stock could gain as much as 1,500% or more. The landing page provides no valuation model, forecast, contract economics or probability framework that connects Amentum’s disclosed business to that outcome. Unsupported

Why the identification points to Amentum

The strongest clue is the corporate timeline. Amentum became a standalone public company in September 2024 when Jacobs separated its Critical Mission Solutions business and combined it with Legacy Amentum. The ticker AMTM began trading three days later.

The corporate-history clue is also distinctive. Amentum lists EG&G, Morrison-Knudsen, Westinghouse Government Services, URS, Lear Siegler, DynCorp, PAE and Jacobs’ Critical Mission Solutions among its heritage companies. Its annual filing credits that legacy with environmental support after the Manhattan Project, Air Force test facilities, Apollo-era NASA test infrastructure, Space Shuttle launch-complex design and current Artemis support.

That combination is a much tighter match than a conventional aircraft manufacturer. The campaign’s “chameleon” wording appears to refer to the mergers, acquisitions and name changes that created today’s Amentum.

The UAP story is inference, not company evidence

The promotion moves from three real facts to one unsupported conclusion. Amentum performs sensitive government work. Some UAP cases remain unresolved. Former officials have made serious allegations in congressional testimony. None of those facts demonstrates that Amentum possesses recovered craft or is commercializing non-human technology.

The publisher itself uses qualifying language such as “I believe” and presents two possibilities: ordinary classified testing, or reverse-engineering alien technology. That protects the sentence from being a direct factual assertion, but it does not supply evidence for the investment thesis.

The government record cuts against certainty. AARO’s public answer to whether the Department has found evidence of extraterrestrial technology is “No,” and its historical review says it found no empirical evidence that the U.S. government or private companies have been reverse-engineering extraterrestrial technology.

The patent does not connect Amentum to anti-gravity

The “Craft using an inertial mass reduction device” patent is real. The ownership trail is equally clear: the inventor is Salvatore Cezar Pais and the assignee is the U.S. Department of the Navy. The patent record does not name Amentum as inventor, owner or assignee.

A patent also establishes a claimed invention, not a working commercial product. Even if the Navy patent proved technically important, a separate evidentiary step would be required to show that Amentum controls it, receives economics from it or has a funded program based on it. The accessible campaign does not provide that bridge.

What investors are actually buying

Amentum’s latest quarter gives a less sensational, more useful picture. For the three months ended July 3, 2026, the company reported $3.49 billion of revenue, down 2% year over year, $172 million of operating income and $66 million of net income. Free cash flow was $135 million.

The demand base is substantial. Backlog reached $48.2 billion, with $6.2 billion funded, and the company reported a 1.1 times quarterly book-to-bill ratio. Amentum also said net leverage was 3.0 times, based on $3.875 billion of debt, $459 million of cash and $1.128 billion of trailing adjusted EBITDA.

The conventional space catalyst is real too. On August 20, Amentum announced a $974 million Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering II award at NASA Langley. The work covers wind tunnels, laboratories, utilities, engineering, maintenance and facility operations. It is meaningful government engineering work, not evidence of UAP exploitation.

What the promotion leaves underweighted

  • Debt: Amentum still carried $3.875 billion of total debt at the latest quarter-end.
  • Government-budget exposure: continuing resolutions, procurement delays, program pauses and changing priorities can delay awards and revenue.
  • Contract execution: cost control, technical performance and schedule failures can reduce or erase contract economics.
  • Backlog quality: total backlog is not the same as funded revenue and can be modified, delayed or cancelled.
  • Thesis evidence: the most dramatic part of the campaign has no disclosed Amentum contract, patent, product or revenue stream behind it.

Decoder Verdict

High-confidence identification, low-confidence extraordinary thesis
IdentityAmentum (AMTM)
What holds upGovernment engineering, NASA work, corporate-history clues
What failsNo disclosed alien-tech, anti-gravity or patent economics

Amentum is a defensible decode because the clues converge on one public company. It may also be an interesting government-services business on conventional grounds. But the accessible evidence does not justify treating it as a public proxy for recovered UAP technology. The investable facts are backlog, margins, cash generation, leverage and contract execution. The alien-tech narrative is promotion, not a disclosed business line.
