Trading Tips’ “A 10% Yield Trading Under $4” clues point most strongly to CuriosityStream. The $0.085 quarterly dividend and the promotion’s licensing, revenue, margin and profit figures line up unusually closely with the documentary-streaming company’s second-quarter results. The dividend is real; a durable double-digit yield is not guaranteed.

1The numbers convergeRevenue of $23.2 million, licensing revenue of $14.1 million and $8.9 million in net income match CuriosityStream’s Q2 release.
2The dividend fitsA quarterly dividend of $0.085 annualizes to $0.34. At the teaser’s cited $3.55 share price, that equals about 9.6%.
3The improvement is realRevenue rose 22%, licensing grew 48% and gross margin reached 72.8% in the reported quarter.
4The risk is understatedLicensing can be lumpy, major customers matter, cash declined, and every future dividend still requires board approval.

What drives the score

  • Five distinctive figures in the promotion match CuriosityStream’s reported results and declared dividend.
  • The implied yield calculation is mathematically sound at the promotion’s cited price, but it is not a fixed coupon.
  • Licensing growth and profitability improved sharply, while six-month operating cash flow and available liquidity remain important counterweights.
  • The promotion gives too little weight to customer concentration, streaming competition and the board’s discretion over future dividends.

The score measures the promotion’s evidential credibility. It is not a rating of CuriosityStream or a recommendation.

What Trading Tips is claiming

The Trading Tips campaign promotes five low-priced shares. One position is described in a circulated advertorial as “A 10% Yield Trading Under $4.” The clues include a $3.55 share price, a quarterly dividend of $0.085, 48% licensing growth to $14.1 million, quarterly revenue of $23.2 million, a 73% gross margin and record net income of $8.9 million.

That is an unusually specific fingerprint. It identifies a quarter, a dividend and several line items rather than leaning only on a broad industry theme. CuriosityStream’s August 12 results reproduce the key figures closely enough that no rival we tested presents a comparable fit.

Why the clues point to CuriosityStream

Promotion clue CuriosityStream evidence Match
$0.085 quarterly dividend The board declared a $0.085 third-quarter cash dividend Exact
Licensing revenue up 48% to $14.1 million Q2 licensing revenue was $14.1 million, up 48% Exact
Quarterly revenue of $23.2 million Reported revenue was $23.2 million, up 22% Exact
Gross margin near 73% Gross profit was $16.9 million, or 72.8% of revenue Exact after rounding
Record net income of $8.9 million Reported net income was $8.9 million Exact

The alternative check matters because the wider campaign also discusses BigBear.ai and three unresolved positions. BigBear.ai does not pay the teased dividend and its Q2 revenue, margin and net-income profile does not match this clue set. Other small streaming and media companies fail on the combined dividend and licensing figures. CuriosityStream is therefore the clearly strongest identity even though the publisher has not named the ticker in the accessible promotion.

Is the “10% yield” claim accurate?

At the campaign’s reference price, it is close. Four quarterly payments of $0.085 equal $0.34 per year. Dividing $0.34 by $3.55 produces an annualized yield of about 9.6%, which reasonably rounds to roughly 10%.

What that calculation does not prove: the yield is not locked in. It moves inversely with the share price, and the company’s board decides whether to declare each future dividend. A quoted yield can rise because the dividend increases, but it can also rise because the stock price falls.

CuriosityStream’s latest release confirms the company paid an ordinary dividend during the first half of 2026 and declared another $0.085 payment. Its 2025 Form 10-K is more measured: management said it expected to keep using cash on hand for quarterly dividends, subject to board approval and market conditions. The filing also says its credit facility conditions dividends on maintaining at least $10 million of liquidity after payment.

What the latest quarter supports

The company-issued second-quarter release shows a real operating improvement. Revenue increased 22% to $23.2 million. Licensing revenue rose 48% to $14.1 million, gross margin expanded to 72.8%, and net income reached $8.9 million. Management raised full-year revenue guidance to $77 million–$82 million and adjusted EBITDA guidance to $18 million–$22 million.

The mix behind those results matters. Licensing now includes traditional video rights, audio and video material for AI training, and code datasets. That can turn an existing content library into high-margin revenue. It can also make quarterly results less predictable than the headline suggests because a few larger agreements may arrive unevenly.

The same release reported $10.9 million of cash, restricted cash and held-to-maturity securities at June 30, with no debt. It also reported $3.0 million of cash used in operating activities during the first six months of 2026. Strong accounting earnings in one quarter therefore should not be mistaken for a permanently settled cash-flow profile.

What the pitch leaves out

  • Customer concentration: CuriosityStream’s 2025 Form 10-K says its three largest customers represented 29% of revenue and 52% of accounts receivable.
  • Licensing volatility: a small number of large video, data or code agreements can make quarterly growth look smoother—or more repeatable—than it really is.
  • Competition: the same filing identifies far larger streaming rivals with deeper libraries, broader audiences and greater financial resources.
  • Dividend discretion: the quarterly payment is not contractual. Board approval, cash generation and liquidity conditions still apply.
  • Small-cap volatility: a high indicated yield does not protect shareholders from price declines, thin liquidity or changing valuation expectations.

Verdict

CuriosityStream is the strongest identity, and the promotion’s arithmetic works. The durability case needs more evidence.
Most likely stockCuriosityStream (CURI)
SupportedDividend, revenue, margin and licensing figures
UnprovenA stable double-digit yield and repeatable licensing surge

This is a strong clue match rather than a publisher reveal. The exact combination of quarterly dividend, licensing growth, revenue, gross margin and net income makes CuriosityStream the clearly strongest fit.

The investment framing is less secure than the identity. The roughly 10% yield was valid around the campaign’s cited price, but it is a moving ratio built on a discretionary dividend. The company’s licensing economics improved sharply, yet concentration and cash-flow evidence argue against treating one quarter as a finished transformation.

For readers, the useful conclusion is precise: the teaser most likely points to CURI, and its core figures are grounded in reported results. The income and durability claims still require the kind of caution the promotion largely leaves out.
